Pinned adults were prepared for scanning electron microscopy using standard procedures by Mrs. Susann G. Braden, sem Laboratory, National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution. Images of diagnos tic characters directly taken from specimens using scanning electron microscopy are provided. The cut-off date is October 1999, and changes in taxonomic status since then are not included. Geographically, this key includes all of Africa south of Mo rocco, Algeria, Libya and Egypt.
