The Police Information Technology Organisation (PITO) is a non-departmental public body established in 1997 to carry out activities relating to information technology equipment and systems for the use of the police service and other criminal justice organisations within the UK. It also provides a procurement, contract management and advisory service to police forces in the UK. This publication contains the annual report and accounts for the period 2001-02, and looks at the organisation's aims and objectives, performance and organisational structure.
