"At age 20 Ann Trimble (Warren) set sail for Europe from the U.S.A. in the summer of 1937 to study folk art and crafts in Poland and Eastern Europe with the International School of Art. The study group met the prominent artists and art educators of the time, as well as the leaders in high society. No-one knew they were witnessing the end of a time of elegance and artistry which would be lost in a tragic war. Ann, a student at Swarthmore College, Pennsylvania, kept a diary of this time, along with a few precious treasures, but when she returned home to her studies, then marriage and a family, she never spoke of that adventure again. The diary was found by her daughter Sally Warren, after her death, and through this document, the family has found enthralling new dimensions to the family matriarch."--
