Author Description

Score of musical composition for solo guitar as recorded by Ken Hatfield on "Explorations for Solo Guitar" (Arthur Circle Music-9802). This composition is in the form of a suite comprised of the following six movements: Prelude, Mazurka, Shuffle, Heather's Waltz, Chorinho, Samba. The content of the composition employs the musical vocabularies often associated with jazz, blues, and Brazilian music. This content is presented in various dance forms traditionally used in suite writing ranging from those used by J.S. Bach to Chopin to Duke Ellington to Heitor Villa-Lobos.
