When 8 year old Jimmy Rogers grandmother broke her leg, his mother hurried away to Scotland to take care of her, leaving Jimmy in the charge of his Auntie Beryl who was no ordinary auntie. When she was around things began to happen that were out of the ordinary...During his first night, Jimmy was awoken and taken in his auntie s little red sports car to the village pond where he met Captain Washday, an elderly ex-sea captain, who whisked them off on a strange adventure in a rowing boat; which became an ocean liner, which stopped at a strange country. When they arrived, there were lights on in a house no bigger than a dolls house. Peering through a window, Jimmy saw dancers dressed in clothes that were very different from what he was used to. They squeezed themselves through the doorway and the small house became a mansion. Greeted as they entered, they were told of the dragon that was menacing the country. How could Jimmy, Auntie Beryl and Captain Washday help to stop the beast from destroying the country Will they be in great danger Will they get back home again Or will it end in disaster
