Workbook for Lectors, Gospel Readers, and Proclaimers of the Word® can provide the ongoing instruction and advice that ministers of the word need. It's almost like hiring a personal coach for each reader. Not only does Workbook assist in preparing an assigned reading, but when ministers of the word read this resource every week, it strengthens their proclamation skills and deepens their spiritual lives so that they can touch the hearts of your assembly with their reading. Trainers and coaches can't be available during the week to help readers practice for Sunday, but Workbook can be. It contains readings in large print for easy practice with words in bold suggesting emphasis, commentaries that give background and explain the meaning of the reading, with advice on how to proclaim it, and margin notes with pronunciation guides and more tips for proclamation. Workbook s introduction gives orientation to the ministry, catechesis about the place of the readings in the Mass, and links to audio files demonstrating chanted introductions and closings for the readings.
