Sam Tracker inherited the T-Bar Ranch and in four years increased the herd and took on a partner, Kirby Landers. He and Christine Benton were about to be married. Then, in a single day, all was changed. Tracker came back from a visit to town to find the horses gone, Christine gone, Kirby Landers gone, and their capital had been withdrawn from the bank. He took to the trail which would lead to Mule Creek.
