Grennan is an instructor at San Diego Mesa College. He created this picture key for his students so that they could identify plants in the field more easily. This key leads you out to the plant family. Helpful drawings and scanned images of plants and specific plant parts make this book helpful and practical. Cis-Montane Plants of Southern California includes plants from the coast to the mountains. It doesn’t include the back (east) side of the mountain and the desert. It also doesn’t include ornamental plants unless they have been naturalized. 8 1/2" x 6", 308 pages plus index. Color illustrations throughout.
