Everyone is familiar with the saying, "It takes a village to raise a child." Thief River Falls MN was my "village" growing up in the carefree dayis of the 40s. We didn't get bored, we got busy. If something needed doing we did it. If we didn't have it we made do with what was available such as paint and slipcovers or we went without. Now we are all grown up and giving thanks to the "village" that raised us. Oh, those were the days!
