Stories about war and great battles have described heroism in combat while others described destruction, suffering, death and dismemberment of young men's bodies. Less has been written about the human condition - the need for companionship and trust, the odd-ball and sometimes funny things men do in combat. This is the humanity the author struggled to find and write about as an Army combat correspondent in Korea.
