"J. Theodore Sinclair was minding his own business. He owned an engineering company working in Hawaii for the local telephone company where he and his staff were modernizing their network. One evening, he finds himself transported back in time to the evening before the Pearl Harbor attack. After his first attempt to warn the Navy of the upcoming attack was thwarted by his being arrested by the FBI, he decides he will have to change his strategy. Sinclair determines he has been sent by Heaven to interfere in the chaos, so he forms a partnership with the groups CO, Joe Rochefort. The story evolves as he lives through the war years, attempting to use his knowledge of the future to ameliorate some of the pain, suffering, and premature deaths experienced by millions through those violent years. Sinclair's vision of his mission initially was limited to warning of the attack, but it soon morphs into his being pushed to the forefront of the action, where he attempts to not only forestall agonies and premature deaths experienced by innocents but form a different world when the shooting stops."--Back cover.
