December 16, 2020 Calendar year 2020 has truly been one for the ages. It's right up there with the year the Twin Towers were attacked (2001), and the year the Brooklyn Dodgers left Ebbet's Field (1957). Although we have been waiting for the IRS to finalize the tax forms and instructions, we decided to go ahead and print a copy of what they have so far. As you can see from the Table of Contents, many of the instructions are still in draft as are some of the forms. However, some of the forms and instructions have been finalized and we suspect it will be January before we get the rest. Understandably the IRS has been impacted by the Corona virus and under the circumstances, it's amazing they were able to get this far. We imagine the coordination of all these documents with everyone working remotely must have been a massive undertaking. Anyway, our hats are off to them and thanks for doing the work under these circumstances. Having been federal employees ourselves, we know that many of the federal employees that do the critical work needed to keep the country running labor quietly in the background and are accustomed to a general lack of appreciation by the general public (in large part because most citizens have no idea how many regulations and laws federal employees have to comply with). It's amazing that federal employees are able to do as much as they do. As soon as the 2020 forms and instructions are finalized, we will go ahead and republish the book. Until that time, go ahead and dive into this and get ready for one of the most challenging tax seasons in a long while. This will be one for the history books.
