AS FAR AS THE ROPE CAN GO by BJ Duke and Elizabeth BottomsThere is a point in time when we wake up to the reality that there are more generations behind us than are in front. As we head in that direction we begin to wonder what it is we might be leaving our youngsters in wisdom and memories. As Far As The Rope Can Go really got started when Elizabeth and I were discussing getting old. I suppose I thought old people were just old people. Not that I would ever become one! So her saying there's an old person inside every young person waiting to be, and a young person inside every old person was brilliant. Then one of her very young granddaughters said they never wanted to get old. A timeless idea really; bridge that space between their young and our old with the gift of time ~ the interconnectedness of family. "Grandma's past and my future hold hands in the present."
