This book details the process of deploying Oracle 10g Real Application Clusters (RAC) on the AIX V5 operating system utilizing the General Parallel File System (GPFS). It serves as a technical guide for system administrators and database professionals seeking to implement high-availability database solutions. The content focuses on the specific configurations and steps required to integrate these distinct technologies for optimal performance and reliability in an enterprise environment.

The technical nature of this book suggests it is aimed at a specialized audience of IT professionals, particularly those managing Oracle databases on AIX systems. The focus on specific versions of Oracle RAC, AIX, and GPFS indicates a practical, hands-on approach rather than a theoretical overview. Readers would likely expect detailed, step-by-step instructions and solutions to common deployment challenges in such environments.
