Excerpt from Foreign Crops and Markets, Vol. 11: July 13, 1925 Condi tions in Europe have been generally favorable throughout the season although there have been recent reports of some deterioration due to drought. Forecasts of production received to date from Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Hungary, Poland and Bulgaria are all above the estimates of last year, but not so good as in 1923 except for Bulgaria. No forecast is yet available for France, but the relation of the May 1 condition re port to the final yields as shown by a correlation covering the period 1902 to 1924 indicates a yield of bushels per acre for the coming season. Applying this estimated yield to' the acreage reported, the probable pro duction for 1925 would amount to about bushels. Winter kill ing in Germany has been much less than last year and although no' acreage estimates are yet available, if the seeded area is up to last year, which was only slightly above the 5-year average 1920 the production fore cast on the basis of the June 1 condi tion would be about bushels, or slightly less than in 1923.
