Excerpt from Burpee's Annual, 1924 This is a tomato of immense size with aston ishingly solid meat and practicallyfi free from seeds, which, of course, makes the seed rather expensive; but it is well worth all it costs. The fruits are of handsome appearance, being uni formly large, smooth, and having a rich dark crimson skin. Its avor is deliciously sub acid. True giant ponderosa is well known wherever pink or crimson tomatoes are pre ferred. The plants not only bear an immense crop of tomatoes but the individual fruits are very large. We have seen specimen fruits which weighed over 1% pounds each. 'the variety has proven of value for market as well as for the home garden.
