A Lecture on Heads was first produced in London in 1764. George Stevens was an English actor, playwright, poet, and songwriter. Stevens was able to become quite successful from the 40 editions of this work during the remainder of the 18th century. His Lecture on Heads was a satirical lecture about heads and fashion. The speech parodied the popularity of physiognomy. Physiognomy is the analysis of a person¿s character and personality from assessing their outer appearance, especially the face.
