This book aims to equip newbie coders with a useful level of coding knowledge and expertise in a very short timeframe. It is bursting with examples which are very easy to work through - all you need is a browser and a text editor such as Notepad++. Even the longest examples should take no more than thirty minutes to write out, and if one devotes a couple of hours a day to working through the text, one could complete the book within two to four weeks. Along the way, you will familiarise yourself with the environment for writing and debugging code, and the pillars of JavaScript structure and syntax - data types, functions, object-oriented JavaScript and more. You should be set to develop simple, practical applications of your own and possess sufficient basic knowledge to explore further, perhaps into frameworks, animations, Node.js and more - there is a vast coding world out there. When I wrote this book, I looked at how resources on the Internet were tackling the topics and explaining them. Although they were very helpful, quite often the examples stopped short of what I wanted to do. So, in this book I have developed examples to a degree that I found practically useful and if you have been researching a topic on the Web without success, perhaps you will find a solution in one ofthe simple problems in the book - I hope so. Although it was written on a PC and the interface for browsers or apps users may be slightly different in some instances for Mac users, I doubt this is will present any significant hurdle. Don't expect a book which is encyclopedic (the topic can be vast), but do expect something that is positive, punchy and practical. Good luck with your coding journey!
