This book features the Practical Life lessons presented during Dr. Montessori’s Course No. 7 in Karachi, India, in 1946, and offers a unique glimpse into her original teachings. The lessons in this book were transcribed from handwritten notes taken by Lakshmi Kripalani, who was Montessori’s student in that 1946 course. Her original handwritten notes are housed in the AMS archives (the American Montessori Society Records) at the University of Connecticut, which is open to the public. Book One focuses on the entire scope of lessons given for Practical Life in 1946, along with the philosophy of Practical Life lessons.
