Author Description

Intended as a follow-up text to "IPng: Internet Protocol Next Generation", this book presents the technical description of the Next Generation Internet Protocol called IPv6. It features an overview of IPv6 and describes the features of the protocol - most significantly, autoconfiguration, security, routing and transition. In addition, all the extended capabilities beyond the present protocol (IPv4) are described. The authors consider present and future issues and potential refinements to IPv6 as the technology takes hold and is implemented throughout the communications industry.
