This classroom tested resource package takes students on a first hand exploration of mega projects using the CPR as its platform. This is an active project that engages students in challenging the physical geography of Canada in an attempt to out think the pundits of the late 19th century. This package is complete with blackline masters and teaching instructions. Students will enhance their knowledge of history and business, will develop skills in geography and communication, and will develop a complex understanding of the intricacies of planning and preparing large projects while coming to terms with the value of publicly funded mega projects. The unit takes about three weeks, but is highly flexible.
