This book contends that the historical process, like the game of chess, takes place on an objective background (the game board) and unfolds on it according to specific rules. Its first part uses an inductive analysis of prehistory to identify the eight economic sectors that serve as the governing prototypes of the objective background. It also uncovers the seven laws that govern historical development upon the background. Ending, it uses the laws to anticipate how socioeconomic structure unfolds on the sectorial background during the unfolding of History. The second part of the book analyzes early sacred development and then juxtaposes it with the socioeconomic development sketched in part one. Using a process-by-process comparison, it concludes:(a) the general background and laws that govern the structural development of sacred and secular realms are isomorphic; (b) the development structures of the two realms unfold as an inverted canon in which the sacred theme is played two phases after that of the profane. Using its findings, this part ends by anticipating a sacred resurgence at the beginning of each socioeconomic period.Detailing the temporal unfolding of the seven periods of Western History. the third part of the book attempts to verify the over thirty predictions made in the prehistoric parts. Each historic period appears with a predominant economic sector. But, as there are 10 periods and only 8 economic sectors, History returns upon itself in Period 10, which represents a return to the first Human era - the sexually balanced, peaceful Neolithic Period.
