From 2008-2013 Western Australian arts organization FORM managed Midland Atelier, a collective studio hub for contemporary design, based in a century-old railway workshop in Perth's eastern fringe. 'Midland Atelier 2008-2013' documents the full five years of programming delivered through the site, including site-specific works created at the studios by internationally renowned artists and designers including Helen Britton, Jon Goulder, ROA and David Trubridge. This award-winning publication documents the site's major commissions and exhibitions, alongside essays exploring the nature of site-based design, interviews with the participating creatives, and a historical profile of the Midland Railway Workshops - the southern hemisphere's largest remaining complex of Edwardian industrial buildings.
