
The principal role of the Scottish Legal Services Ombudsman is to provide an independent and impartial check to ensure that professional legal bodies in Scotland handle complaints fairly and reasonably. The 2004/2005 report looks at the work of the office during the year April 2004 to March 2005, during which period the Ombudsman received 505 complaints for investigation, a rise of 27 per cent from the previous year.
