« Radical! brings together over seventy women artists from more than twenty countries, thereby opening up new perspectives on the diverse and multinational dimension of Modernism. Regardless of origin and stylistic categorization, they are united by their search for a new visual language with which to capture their living environment in an age characterized by historical upheaval. The works presented here powerfully document how vehemently women artists questioned the roles accepted by society, vociferously criticized political events, and entrenched the aesthetic ideals of Modernism in people's everyday lives.
