Knights of Odin Edda The history of the Germanic tribes of Europe reaches back to the beginning of mankind. The Teutons, Celts, These tribes included Slaus, Scandinavians, Greeks, Latins and others. Though their geographical locations varied, they all had similar belief systems, cultures, and ways of life. They all worshiped a large pantheon of Gods and Goddesses who mirrored each other in certain aspects, celebrated festivals with the change of seasons, and respected nature to the fullest. They passed stories of their Gods and Goddesses down through the generations with oral stories; stories of bravery, respect, sacrifice, and the importance of order over chaos. These stories also told of the creation of our world and the first humans. Our ancestors molded their lives around these stories, and the Gods and Goddesses ruled these lands until the invasion of the alien god and his religion of Christianity. These invaders stole our holy days, destroyed our temples and sacred graves, and murdered those who refused to convert. Not everyone would submit, however; just as our Gods and Goddesses were warriors, our ancestors were also warriors, and through them our Ancient Lore and ways were preserved. Though much was lost, what survived has been written down through the ages in different Eddas, Sagas, and other mythologies. This Edda is a combination of several texts. Some of the stories I have added to from my own beliefs, and I have put them in an order that may be different from most other texts. Though for the most part I have stayed true to the original Eddas and Lore, there may be differences of opinion, just as you may find in many other religious texts. I hope to add more as my knowledge increases and grows, and I hope this text encourages the search for knowledge within the reader. I hope this work furthers our faith and folk.
