Mansfield Park is the third of Austen's novels and features Fanny Price a ten year old sent to live with her wealthy relatives at Mansfield Park. Fanny grows up with her four older cousins but is always treated like an unwanted poor relation. Jane Austen was an English novelist whose works of romantic fiction earned her a place as one of the most widely read writers in English literature. Her plots are fundamentally comic and highlight the dependence of women on marriage to secure social standing and economic security.
