Author Description

Are computers and other digital technologies tools for revolutionary transformation in education practice that will benefit young people of the 'digital generation', or are they, as some have suggested, the 'false promise' of education in the 21st century? Why are there so many conflicting views and opinions? What do we know-or what do we think we know-about what it means to be 'learning in the digital age'? This literature review surveys some of the recent research, rhetoric, and common representations of the role and impact of digital technologies in the lives of young people, and the implications for teaching and learning in the 'digital age'.
