Who Profits When Black Men Gang-Gang? is a harrowing story about the journey of Abdul Hadi. He transitioned from helping to lead a local crip set in New York to become a Muslim. Hadi grew up always having to fight and so when he joined the Crips it seemed like he was a natural. The battles over drug territory and clout were the norm and no one had more than Abdul Hadi. Fearless in the face of death, calm in the midst of shoot-outs, and feared by his rivals Abdul Hadi built his reputation from the concrete ground up. Abdul Hadi would eventually control his own set in the Bronx, New York. Now with a crew of his own, weapons, and money pouring in from illegal activities Abdul Hadi was among the most respected gang-members in the hood. He earned the reputation for being fair but ruthless.

After landing in New York City’s notorious Rikers Island for an attempted murder charge, for the first time he realized that he believed in the gang more than everyone else. Not only was he helping destroy his community, but he was doing it for hypocrites. This is when Abdul Hadi turned his belief from man to God. While incarcerated awaiting trial he linked up with the Muslim community and the rest was history or should we say the future.
