This book deals with situations that arose on farms in Ohio, New York and rural SE Texas. Most of the humorous events arise with first-time tries at being a farmer with little or no prior experience. Farm issues involve raising and butchering chickens, milking goats, organic veggie gardening, leeches, groundhogs, feral cats and raising alpacas. Raising and selling hogs included adopting one as a pet and bringing her into our house. Learning how to shear alpacas was part of the fun as well as donating alpacas to the local zoo. Cleaning, washing and hand-spinning alpaca fleece came next. We opened a small farm store near our house and learned how to be retail business owners. Small town Texas stories deal with prejudice, learning to drive and digging graves for pets (twice).
