Medical informatics is a fast-moving field. The contributions in this volume will keep you up-to-date with latest, particularly European, developments. A notably broad field of topics is covered, but with emphasis on two new approaches: firstly, the social and legal aspects of new technology and, secondly, the role of information technology in the service of the handicapped. Knowledge of such advances will enable health services to maintain and improve the health standards of its population.
