Jane Austen (Steventon, December 16, 1775-Winchester, July 18, 1817) was a British novelist who lived during the Georgian era. The irony that he uses to give his novels a comic makes Jane Austen be considered among the classics of the English novel, while her reception goes, even today, beyond academic interest, her works being read by a wider audienceHis family belonged to the agrarian bourgeoisie, context from which he did not leave and in which he places all his works, always around the marriage of his protagonist. The candor of Austen's works, however, is merely apparent, although it can be interpreted in several ways. Academic circles have always considered Austen as a conservative writer, while the most current feminist critique points out that in her work a novelization of the thought about women's education can be appreciated.
