1983. Two months' work in Italy for the Avanti series of Italian language text books. Gathering photographic material and familiarising myself with Italian culture after almost a decade's absence. From the thousands of images I took for the publisher, I chose about 50 for myself for my first solo exhibition. For many years the 35mm transparencies used to be in plastic sleeves in one place, easy to find. But when I decided to scan them all and create a digital set, I couldn't find a couple of the transparencies. Luckily I still had Cibachrome prints of the missing shots, so I scanned those.
