First modern publication of Rossini s famous overture arranged by De Fossa for guitar and piano. Engraved from the sole source for this work - the Simrock edition. The source is accurate and we have retained De Fossa's original fingering. A critical commentary is included. Rossini must have like particularly liked this work as he used this overture not only for Elisabetta, but also for the Barber of Seville and Aureliano in Palmira. Great fun to play and a good mood-setter or closer!
