This report outlines the assistance that has been given under sections 7, 8, 11 and 13 of the Act. This is followed by a synopsis of industrial development in Scotland, Wales and the English regions. There is also a map of the UK's Assisted Areas, as approved by the European Commission. For the first time there are four areas that qualify for Tier I assistance, they are West Wales, Cornwall, Merseyside, and the Valleys.
