There has been life on Mars. There has also been dramatic solar system destruction. What caused the fifth planet to never form? Some unknown situation prevented or disrupted the planet formation process. Perhaps the planet actually formed was torn apart. Millions perhaps billions of years later, something happened to Mars. Mars shows signs of having been covered with water. It clearly has a damaged magnetic field. What caused this damage? Earth's geological history has repeated major extinction occurrences. What caused this roughly two hundred million year destruction cycles? Einstein predicted the existence of small black holes created by the big bang at the first moment of the universe. What if a few have survived? What kind of havoc might one cause for a solar system that periodically went through its range of influence? Would such an interaction explain the damage to our solar system? This is a story about the people of Mars and their struggles to survive the encounter with a black hole.
