This directory aims to provide a comprehensive listing of manufacturers operating within Texas during the 1978-1979 period. Compiled by Ida M. Lambeth, the work serves as a reference tool for businesses, researchers, and individuals seeking information on the state's industrial landscape. It details company names, locations, and potentially product lines or services offered by these manufacturers.

As a directory, its reception is primarily measured by its utility and accuracy as a reference tool. The value of such a publication lies in its comprehensiveness and the ease with which users can locate specific manufacturing entities within Texas for the given time frame. Its authority would stem from the thoroughness of its data collection and its availability to businesses and researchers needing historical industrial information.
