"Sitters were invited to make slight shifts in their pose while being photographed several times on one frame, in a way to turn the still photograph into a small movie. Twenty five years later the images were retrieved by scanning the 5x5 negatives directly to the computer. The results recall the first photographs of the 1840s and carry a sense of painting in the speckling of lilac and pink in the light and mid-tones of the image"--Introduction.
