Author Description

This short story describes a move to a new state that was a life-changing event. It also describes some of the great adventures I had on a western ranch that was over 26,000 acres in size. The book also describes some of my experiences while serving on a nuclear powered aircraft carrier. It documents some of the perils of being out to sea and visiting foreign ports of call.It also takes a look into the past and offers a perspective of the growing tensions in the middle east and ponders the thought whether we would really be concerned about the area if they didn't have vast oil reserves.It is a story about a boy who comes of age on a southwestern ranch and later gets a true taste of reality and the high cost of freedom while serving in the U.S. Navy.The story takes place in the time frame from 1976 to 1988.
