Author Description

For 52 days, I have written a five-line and two-line poem incorporating the Merriam-Webster Word of the Day. I have named this poetry form the Quintet Couplet. A single line poem is called a monostitch, two line poems are called a couplet, a three line poem is a tercet or triplet, while a four line poem is a quatrain, and a five is either a pentastich or a quintet. Technically, I am writing a septet because there are seven lines. However, I am honoring both my decades and years.
