This text describes the social work processes and stages of the General Method. Skills and techniques associated with each stage are illustrated with practice vignettes and longer practice examples, highlighting the micro, mezzo, and macro levels of generalist practice in seven field settings. This fourth edition has been expanded to include an ecological-systems perspective, a problem focus, a strengths/needs orientation, and an open selection of theories and interventions.
