This book describes life in the English Lake District between 1954 and 1960. Alan Macfarlane lived in Esthwaite Dale, where Wordsworth went to school and spent his time walking, fishing learning the guitar and to ride a motorbike. Based on contemporary letters and diaries, this is part of a longer autobiography in several volumes.
