A new era for the parade began in 1960, lasting until the 1998 parade. This new era witnessed the inclusion of floats from each of the high school classes from the five county schools, changing social constructs, and the decline and demise of several clubs and organizations. However, the parade went forth annually to the delight of the many hundreds who returned each year to see the parade and to reconnect, reminisce, and fellowship with friends old and new. This book is an homage to the people, past and present, who work diligently to keep our parade a significant and relevant piece of the living history of Clay County.
