Hitchhiker Duckie, Ballad of Duckie is an amusing adventure story about a plush stuffed duck rescued from the asphalt by a gas pump. He likes beer and margaritas. Travelling with his two new friends the beach highways of the Florida panhandle to the tough city outside of Bourbon Street in New Orleans through back highways to Texas, Houston, Waco then north to Fort Sill in Lawton Oklahoma where his rides son is graduating from boot camp. The Long Waddle West, where he waddles deep into the world of synchronized shouting, starch-heavy uniforms, and the oddly polite chaos of Fort Sill. He sneaks onto the base to find it is pretty normal except everyone wears the same clothes and makes a lot of noise. His name is H.P. Duckie, he loves the open roads, the old decaying towns on the almost abandoned highways leading to this bold adventure tale, told in the style of a gritty 1950s detective noir. Enjoy the ride.
