The focus of this book is the Sheron family of Grant County, Indiana. This branch of the Sheron family tree in America began with Henry Sheron who was born in England in 1748, and married Sarah Miller in Baltimore, Maryland in 1780. Not much is known about Henry other than the names and birth dates of his children, and that he was a silversmith. Further it is known that he moved to Tennessee and then back to Baltimore where most of his children were born before moving to Pennsylvania to become a farmer. He died near Waynesburg, Pennsylvania before 1810. His widow, Sarah, married George Graham around 1810. Henry and Sarah's oldest son, Andrew, was born in Maryland in 1781. He moved from Maryland to Delaware where his oldest son, John, was born in 1804, before moving back to Maryland, then to Pennsylvania, and then to Harrison County, Ohio. John married Matilda Havener in Harrison County, moved to Perry County, Ohio, then to Hocking County, Ohio, and finally to Grant County, Indiana in 1854. Most of John's children came with him, and John and Matilda prospered, and the family flourished. By the early 1900s there were over 100 Sheron families living in Grant County. Each chapter of this book, with the exception of the first and last, covers a decade. In order to give a better sense of the time and place our ancestors lived, I have given a synopsis of world, American, and local history. Family information for the decade follows the histories, then a list of events in history by year. Each chapter ends with my thoughts on history and/or family for the time period. The first chapter covers the period between Henry's birth and marriage, and the last chapter is a computer generated Genealogy report. This book covers the period between 1748 to 1950.
