Nicole Leon, nickname Nix, loves to dream so she may escape her archetypal and depressing life. One day Nix finds that her dreams start to feel different. She experiences strange nuances such as being conscious in them and over time, her dreams start to coalesce with reality: A near encounter of sexual assault from a coworker, Frank, in which she dreamt and is confronted about in reality by him at work the next day followed by seeing an ominous and beguiling guy named Darius in her dreams that suddenly shows up in her Environmental Science class with a strong displeasure for her-Nix becomes frightened and extremely disconcerted.Before she knows it, she is submerged into an alternate world she never thought possible. A world of dream manipulation, dream jumping and individuals such as herself, capable of these abilities known as somnambulists. Before Nix can even swallow what is happening to her and around her, she quickly learns that there are hostile groups of somnambulists and a harmony that has been disrupted. As if being involved in a quarrelsome battle between opposing sides isn't enough, Nix deals with her own amorous problems and much more.
