
Excerpt from Commercial Fertilizers: Report for 1950 The amended law requires that all guarantees of fertilizer ingredients other than phosphoric acid and potash must be expressed as the elemental form; for instance, magnesium and boron must be guaranteed as per centages 'of magnesium and boron, not magnesium oxide and borax. The law also specifies that guarantees of other ingredients than ni trogen, phosphoric acid and potash may be made only by permission of the 1 director of The Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station, but it will be the policy of this Station to consider the filing of an application for registration as a request for such permission, and per mission will normally be withheld only in the case of' a fertilizer con taining such a quantity of an added secondary fertilizer component as would appear to make the fertilizer likely to be harmful to the crops for which it is designed.
