The fifth volume of the series deals with the Cavalry & Reserve Corps, Higher Commands, Corps Groups, Named Corps, Corps Detachments, Feldjager Kommandos, Air Force Field Corps, Parachute Corps, Air Force Field Anti-Aircraft Artillery Corps, Waffen-SS Corps, and Fortresses; Their Commanders, Senior Staff, Superior and Subordinate Formations, and their Operations. Army groups contain details of formation and disbandment (or renaming), senior officers names and ranks (at the time), reason for formation and disbandment etc., and the armies which formed part of them. Army Groups, also has its location stated and the relevant dates, including campaigns. Armies, the next level down in the chain of command, have a similar format, but here there are details of the Corps which were commanded by the Army with relevant dates included. Formations which were called Armies but which were in fact of lesser status are included. Each volume contains an index of personalities. Every officer included in the text in a formation or unit is included, with his relevant rank at the time of an appointment.
