Excerpt from Bulletin of Medical and Premedical Courses, 1933-1934 The course of instruction was interrupted as a result of the wide spread depression that followed the Civil War, but the Trustees of the college continued to transact the business of the corporation at their regular annual meetings and to elect new members to the Board to fill vacancies. Several attempts were made to renew the teaching functions of the college but it was not until 1914 that the Trustees were successful in permanently reopening the college.
