This desk diary serves as a functional organizational tool while celebrating the enduring visual legacy of Australian author and illustrator May Gibbs. The publication compiles archival illustrations and character designs from Gibbs's iconic Gumnut Babies series, providing a structured format for daily scheduling alongside historical artistic context. It functions as both a practical calendar and a curated collection of early 20th-century Australian children's book illustration.

The diary is regarded as a niche collectible for fans of Australian heritage art and historical children's literature. Its utility is primarily defined by its aesthetic appeal and the preservation of Gibbs's distinct botanical-inspired character work.
